Do you eat too much sugar or need help with sugar cravings? Here are some tips for controlling the amount of sugar you eat.
Difficulty: Average
Time Required: Not Applicable

Here's How:

  1. Avoid the high calorie foods liked pastries, candies and processed snack foods. Choose fruits when you crave something sweet. Fruits are delicious and offer lots of vitamins and anti-oxidants.
  2. Avoid white processed flour. Choose whole grain bread, pasta and cereal. Whole grains have more fiber, which keeps you feeling full longer.
  3. Substitute water, diet beverages, vegetable juices, iced tea or low fat milk for sugary soft drinks. Soft drinks contain empty calories, which means they don't have any nutritional benefit.
  4. Eat smaller portions. If you really need a candy bar, choose a small size or cut the candy bar in half and store the rest in the refrigerator for another day.
  5. Keep fruits like apples, bananas and pears in a bowl on your counter top in plain sight. Hide the cookie jar and the candy bars.
